Root Canal Therpay
Why do I need one?
When a crack or cavity destroys the soft inner tissue of a tooth (nerve/pulp) it is exposed to irritants and bacteria in your mouth. This can result in inflammation then infection, and, eventually, an abscess. However the tooth structure can remain to function without the nerve/pulp. Endodontic therapy results in removal of the damaged pulp replaces it with an inert rubber-like substance (Gutta-percha). The result is the salvation of tooth structure that once strengthened with a post and crown can continue to function with biting and chewing.
